Making Kin as Practice of Care: Habitable Bodies or Unexpected Alliances between Ecology, Technology and Feminism
25-27 June, 2026 – University of Beira Interior (Covilhã-Portugal)
This conference aims to establish an inaugural space for interdisciplinary thought on the relationships between ecology, technology and feminism, grounded in Donna Haraway's concept of "making kin". Spanning from Classical Antiquity to the Contemporary Digital Age, it seeks to explore forms of care and cohabitation between bodies, as well as environmental systemic bonds. As a pioneering event in Portugal, it brings together a distinguished group of keynote speakers — leading women experts in their respective fields — and positions itself as a space for critical reflection, where new alliances are imagined for inhabiting the world in more ethical, sustainable ways.
We are looking forward to welcoming you!
