ANA LEONOR SANTOS

Professor in the Department of Communication, Philosophy and Politics at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, UBI. She served as Chair of the UBI Ethics Committee between 2020 and 2022, and as Director of Praxis – Centre for Philosophy, Politics and Culture between 2021 and 2023. Researcher at Praxis, where she coordinates the 'Ethics and Politics' research field and a member of the coordinating team of the Centre for Philosophy and Gender at the Portuguese Society of Philosophy. She holds a PhD in Philosophy, with a thesis on the Philosophy of Action and Neuroscience; in recent years, she has directed her research towards environmental ethics and ecofeminism, focusing on the relationship between theory and praxis.

CATARINA MARTINS

Catarina Caldeira Martins is an Associate Professor with tenure at the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Coimbra and a researcher at the Centre for Social Studies. She was a lecturer for several years at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar. She holds a PhD in German Literature from the University of Coimbra (2008) and has the title of Professor in Cultural and Literary Studies, with a focus on feminist and decolonial studies. She researches and publishes on topics relating to feminist and postcolonial studies, comparative literature, German-language literature and African literatures, particularly those written by women. She teaches at the PhD programmes in Feminist Studies, Discourses: History, Culture and Society, and Literature and Cultural Studies.

LUÍSA SEMEDO

Luísa Semedo is an Afro-descendant Queer scholar, writer, and activist. She holds a PhD in Philosophy (Political and Ethical Studies) from Paris-Sorbonne University and is an associate researcher at CREPAL – Centre de Recherches sur les Pays Lusophones at Sorbonne Nouvelle University. Her current research focuses on AfroQueer issues, particularly in Afro-Luso-Brazilian contexts, and she also collaborates with the Quir Research Hub at the University of Lisbon. Luísa Semedo has taught Creation and Leadership of Associations and NGOs at University Clermont Auvergne, as well as Philosophy at secondary school. She has published short stories, poetry, and the novel O Canto da Moreia (2019), and contributed to Boubaker Adjali l'africain (2022). She has directed several associations, including the CCPF – Coordination of Portuguese Communities in France, and served as a councillor and President of the Europe Regional Council of the Council of Portuguese Communities (CCP). She writes opinion columns for Público.

MARIA JOÃO FAUSTINO

Maria João Faustino holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Auckland. She has conducted research into sexual violence (both online and offline) and its gendered dynamics. Her main research interests relate to digital violence and the boundaries of sexual consent. She is a co-author of the book MeToo. A Very Public Secret. Sexual Harassment in Portugal (Roque, Santos, Faustino and Garraio, 2024). She is currently a researcher at the Centre for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra, where she is developing a research project on AI-facilitated sexual violence, funded by the FCT (Foundation for Science and Technology), Portugal. In addition to her academic work, she actively contributes to media debates on violence against women. She has collaborated with feminist organisations and groups supporting victims and survivors of sexual violence.
